DGUV V3 inspection service providers: What should you consider when choosing one?

Business owners must have their electrical equipment and systems inspected regularly, as required by DGUV V3 and the Industrial Safety Regulation. Certain aspects must be taken into account when commissioning an inspection service provider.

Equipment inspections in accordance with DGUV V3 must be carried out by qualified electricians. This is stipulated by the Technical Rules for Operational Safety (TRBS 1203) and the provisions of the Operational Safety Ordinance (BetrSichV). Qualification as an “electrically trained person (EuP)” is not sufficient for this. This is an important factor in fulfilling one's responsibility for selecting a suitable service provider. Employee qualifications also play a decisive role at Piepenbrock:

"We take the requirements of the legislation seriously. Our test engineers are qualified in accordance with TRBS 1203. They have vocational training in electrical engineering and practical experience. Through annual qualification and audits by our responsible electrical engineer (VEFK), we ensure the ongoing qualification of our employees – both personally and professionally," says Sebastian Sommer, branch manager of the testing service at Piepenbrock.
