Plant construction, the manufacture of plant components and service in the energy sector, for the chemical and petrochemical industry and for environmental technology – more than 180 member companies with 60,000 employees and around 15 billion euros in turnover form a strong alliance in the FDBR for this purpose.

The FIR is a non-profit, cross-sector research and training institution at RWTH Aachen University in the field of business organisation and corporate IT with the aim of creating the organisational foundations for the digitally networked industrial company of the future.


Fraunhofer IML

The Fraunhofer IML is considered the address for all questions concerning holistic logistics and works in all fields of internal and external logistics. Founded in 1981, Fraunhofer IML currently employs 260 scientists and 250 doctoral candidates and students, supported by colleagues in workshops, laboratories and service areas.

The FVI – with more than 500 members from small and medium-sized businesses, large-scale industry, science and politics – is proactive in the field of industrial maintenance. Knowledge transfer and the identification of future trends in the field of maintenance are special concerns of the FVI.

The aim of the non-profit association MFA is the international practice-oriented exchange of knowledge between business and science in the fields of maintenance, facility management and technical service. The MFA sees itself as an information and communication platform and offers its members a variety of special services. The association is the official Austrian representation in the European network of EFNMS (European Federation of National Maintenance Societies).

Süddeutscher Verlag Veranstaltungen GmbH is a company of Süddeutscher Verlag, Munich, a subsidiary of Südwestdeutsche Medienholding, Stuttgart. More than 100 professional events benefit from the proximity and cooperation with the media of Süddeutscher Verlag, including a large number of professional information offerings and, of course, Süddeutsche Zeitung, Germany’s largest national quality newspaper.

155,000 engineers are members of Europe’s largest technical and scientific association, the VDI. The VDI Association of German Engineers provides important impetus for new technologies and technical solutions for a better quality of life, a better environment and more prosperity.

The VTH Verband Technischer Handel e.V. was founded in 1904 as a voluntary protective association of the then asbestos and rubber goods dealers. In the course of time, the function was supplemented by diverse service offerings. Today, the VTH is the only trade association for the technical trade sector and professional association for technical dealers in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.

The task of the Wirtschaftsverband für Industrieservice e.V. (WVIS) is to comprehensively communicate the broad spectrum of the industry, to bundle competences and to project a representative image of the industry to the outside world. We do this in close contact with the member companies and by taking into account current topics from practice. The association currently represents industrial service providers with a turnover of around 13 billion euros and more than 120,000 employees.
