Beschreibung

e supply our systems with an inductive sensor for contactless torque measurement. The measuring principle of the sensor is based on the Villary effect in ferromagnetic materials. We exploit the fact that the permeability of these materials differs in the tensile and compressive directions, e.g., under torsional stress. Without torques, the permeability of the shaft is theoretically identical in both the tensile and compressive directions. This means that the magnetic field is also the same in these directions. When torques are present, the permeability of the shaft material differs in the tensile and compressive directions. The sensor inductively measures this difference, which is proportional to the surface tension or torque over a wide measuring range.
